第一部分内容:基础知识

◆What's up?怎么了?

what's up表示询问对方出了什么状况。

【拓展】What's wrong with you?What's the matter/trouble with you?What's happened to you?等都可以表示“怎么了?/出了什么事?”

◆We are supposed to describe ourselves in a report.我们要写一篇报告来描述自己。

be supposed to意为“应该,认为必须,被期望”和should意思相近。

eg:They were supposed to be here an hour ago.他们应该在一个小时前到达这里。

◆I'm a good student, and I think I'm a good person.我是个好学生,而且我认为我是个好人。

person表示“人”,是个体名词,泛指man,woman 或child中的任何一个,其复数形式是persons,但人们习惯用people代替persons。persons作为复数形式用于正式或法律语言中。“一个人”常译作a person,而需要说明一个人的性别时,要用a man或a woman来表示。

◆be proud of=take pride in为……感到自豪。

eg:She is proud of her new car.她为自己的新车感到自豪。

◆make sense有意义,有道理

eg:I guess that makes sense.我想这蛮有道理。

It makes sense to care for your health.保重身体是明智的。

◆It's my pleasure.我很荣幸。

可以用作人家请求帮忙时或者你已经帮助别人,别人感谢你时的应答语,表示你很荣幸能帮助他这个忙,用于事情发生之后。而“With pleasure.”多用于别人请求帮忙时,自己很愿意去做,用于事情发生之前。
