一天，简收到了一些坏消息。

Many countries use their satellites to send and receive messages.许多国家利用他们的卫星收发信息。

I received an e­mail from my friend yesterday.

昨天我收到了朋友的一封电子邮件。

[探究] receive作动词，意为“收到；接到”，常用短语为receive sth.________sb.，表示“从某人那里收到某物”。其同义词为get, 反义词为send(发送)或give(给予)。例如：

Giving is better than receiving.给予比接收要好。

She asked people if they could help her grandma see the world through pictures.  

她问人们是否他们能够通过照片帮助她的祖母看世界。

[探究] if在本句中译为“________”，引导________从句。此时if相当于whether。但whether可与or not连用，而if不能。例如：
