Dear Li Ming，

Did you ever have a fight with a good friend？It is a really bad feeling if friends don't talk to each other for a couple of days. That's how I felt last week.

You see，I had a big fight with Steven. He and I play on the same basketball team. Our last game was moved to an earlier time，but Steven didn't get my message，so of course he missed the game. He was angry ❶.He threw his basketball，and it hit me. Steven and I were ready to beat each other!

Thanks to ❷ Jenny，everything is OK now. We held a meeting yesterday. We had a good talk and solved our problems. We said sorry to each other.

I'm happy we are friends again. Friendship is important，and we should not fight ❸ over such a small matter.

angry/'æŋri/ adj.生气的；愤怒的

后面可以接动词不定式。

eg：He is very angry to find that nothing has been done.

他发现什么都没被做，很生气。

angry常构成的结构：

be angry with sb.

生某人的气

He was angry with his wife.

他生他妻子的气。

be angry at/about sth./doing sth.

因(做)某事生气

She was angry about/at missing the first bus yesterday.她因昨天错过头班公共汽车而生气。

be angry with sb. for sth./doing sth.因某人(做)某事而生气

I'm angry with you for your conduct.

因为你的行为，我生你的气。

【点拨】考查angry的用法。be angry at/about sth.意为“因某事生气”，故选C项。

angry的副词是angrily。

eg：She left the room angrily.

她生气地离开了房间。

thanks to由于；多亏

eg：Thanks to his effort，it is more successful than we have expected.

由于他的努力，它比我们期望的更成功。

thanks to为固定搭配，thanks不可以改为thank you，to后也不接动词原形，这个短语表示原因，to后接表示感谢的对象。

eg: Thanks to the language，we can learn a lot from other countries.

多亏这门语言, 我们能从其他国家学到很多东西。
