作名词时，是不可数名词。

eg：You should give more care to your work.

你对你的工作应该更认真些。

还可作动词，意为“关心；照料”。

eg：She cares about her children very much.

她很关心她的孩子们。

【重点】take care of意为“照顾，照料”，与look after同义。

eg：My mother is ill. I have to take care of her.

＝My mother is ill. I have to look after her. 

我妈妈病了。我得照顾她。

alone/ə'ləʊn/ adj.& adv.独自(的)

独自(的)，与by oneself同义。

eg：I'm afraid to be alone at home at night.

我害怕晚上一个人在家。

Can you finish the work alone？

＝Can you finish the work by yourself?

你能独自完成这项工作吗？

The boy did his homework with the help of his father in the past. But now he can do it alone. (黄冈)
